Last night at the CHISD School Board Meeting, Senior Cross Country Runner, Paige Layton and Head Cross Country Coach Shelly Binford were recognized for their achievements.
Paige Layton is a senior at Central Heights High School. She has only been running cross country for the last two seasons and what an outstanding career she has had!
🎓 Senior Year Accomplishments: District CHampion, Regional CHampion, State Qualifier with a 10th place out of 149.
🏅Junior Year Accomplishments: District CHampion, Regional Qualifier, State Qualifier - Placed 50 out of 150.
Coach Binford has announced that this was her last season to coach, she will be retiring from Coaching at the end of this school year. She will continue to teach Math at Central Heights Middle School. Coach Binford has coached MS & HS Cross Country for 17 seasons, 13 of those she served as Head Coach. She also coached MS & HS Track & Field for 3 seasons. Thank you Coach Binford for all your years of service and dedication to the athletic program at CHISD!

# District Champions
Teams: 18 total: 8 HS & 10 MS
Individuals: 20 total: 15 HS & 5 MS
Individuals: 15 with Two Regional Champions (2A and 3A)
12 seasons resulting in a trip to the State Meet with 3 state medalists. Highest individual finish was 5th place (Hadley Watts). Highest Team finish: 5th place.
